Ultra Recoil assembly " aftermarket "

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone knows if someone makes a normal non fixed version? So the inner spring can be just pulled off instead of unscrewing the main rod.

Has anyone tried grinding down the end cap. Match rod diameter size, not cut the end off. Then sanding smooth, and sandblast for smooth. Also put a small bevel on the end.

Found one. EGW Guns part 10509 with a flat wire 22lb spring. This is the 45ACP version, they also have the 9mm version.

That looks nice. Too bad I would need a stainless version.

So how are the flat wire recoil springs working?

Hey rlacrossjr.
I see you sold the original recoil spring assemblies from your Ultras. So how well are the new EGW flat wire springs working out for you. I have the same guns both in 45 and 9 and would like to know.

Feels nice with training ammo. But will tell you for sure this weekend. I have a sentinel wilson combat flat wire spring coming to try if it feels the EGW spring is too weak. Thinking extra 1/2" will make it closer to the Wolff XP version. Round spring 18lb = 22lb flatwire
