This includes some OLD guns, some WWII and Korean vintage.
I realize this thread concerns the Swartz safety. Correct me if I am wrong but when you get rid of the swartz safety then Kimbers 1911's return to a Colt 70 series type 1911. When these firing pin block type safeties were first installed on Colts 80 series and Kimber's there was a lot of grumbling that it changed the way the trigger felt or worked. Now it seems that most do not think it makes a difference. Personally I think removing the Swartz is better in the long run. Reason: fewer moving parts less wear, fewer dreaded MIM parts.

The original Browning design did not include the grip. That was an army requirement. Swartz was a Colt employee and there are commercial Colts 1930s that had the safety device he designed. If I recall my history correctly...

If Kimber went to a titanium 9mm firing pin (the breech face opening and pin head diameter are different-so no interchangeable with .45) as Springfield did, they could pass the CA tests and drop the II safety from all their guns.
Democrat controlled city living. Like an 1850's plantation without the work requirement.
