Switchblades in Illinois

We have been fighting to legalize switchblades in Illinois and now are almost there.

SB0607:
Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides an exemption from the prohibition on sale, manufacture, purchase, possession, or carrying of a switchblade knife to a person who possesses a currently valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card previously issued in his or her name by the Department of State Police or to a person or an entity engaged in the business of selling or manufacturing switchblade knives. Effective immediately.

The bill has passed in both houses and now only needs the governors signature.

I was going to contact you, I need another knife and my No Time Off needs touching up. Now I'm going to wait and see if the Governor signs the bill, if he does I'm qualified to own one and that will open a whole new world to me.

You can send the NTO anytime you'd like, you have "life sharp."

I'm an Emerson/Protech kind of guy with a switchblade. Oh, I love the four and five inch Sicilian kind, but more as a conversation piece, I carried one in high school.

But for quality, I'd go Protech.

BTW, did you see the drawer of my personal EDCs? The ivory handled Emerson is a Protech.

Been legal in Tennessee since July 1st 2016.

I may need another Italian switchblade.

Been carrying this one for about a month. 11" long looks short in the pic.

A nice switchblade is cool, no doubt. What are you waiting for? With this thing called the Interweb, you can pretty much order anything you want, and have it delivered to your door.

This is what I found regarding Pennsylvania knife laws. It doesn't make much sense to me.

"Conclusion on Pennsylvania Knife Law. It is illegal to own or carry a dagger, sword cane, any automatic knife, or any implement for the infliction of bodily injury, which serves no common lawful purpose. It is legal to open or conceal carry any other type of knife in Pennsylvania".

Truthfully I already have a couple of cheap ones that I bought to play with in the house. When they become legal I will invest in a good one that I can carry.

Let's hope Rauner lives up to his commitments and we finally get this silly restriction off the books.
