Ok. I got this magazine in a trade (interesting enough it came with a SIG ). It had only the thick bumper pad shown i the pictures.
The SIG is gone but I kept the magazine. I had not tried the magazine before and today I took it with me for the first shootout of our new Stainless Pro Carry II. A fiend of ours with exactly the same pistol was present as well.
The issue:
The magazine is an 8 rounds magazine. If I load it with only 7 rounds, everything is fine. If I load it with 8 rounds it does not stay in place. I can insert it, push, keep it firm in position, but the magazine release does not engage and when I release the pressure the magazine falls back. This happened today with both our Kimber and our Friend's Kimber (that, again, are the same exact model).
This problem did not happen with the standard Kimber 7 rounds magazine nor with other 8 rounds magazines (different brands) that we had with us.
When loaded with 8 rounds we could not see anything strange or out of place. The magazine is used but does not seems abused.
Before I disassemble the magazine, is there anything that I should know? Maybe it's just something as simple as bending a lip.
Tomorrow, if needed I'll upload a picture of the mag with 8 rounds in it.
