Pistol ShotShells

My brother in law says he can't find any 9mm ShotShells. I have always called them snake shot or rat shot. I have everything except 9mm shotshells or I would give him some.

Is CCI the only company making this type ammo?

Anybody know who has it for the best price?

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge CCI is the only company that makes handgun shot shells.

Send a message via AIM to loadedround
Speer still makes empty shot capsules if you desire to load your own.

I've tried them in a revolver but not in a semi-auto. Sportsmansguide has 9mm but I've heard they won't cycle a semi.
$1 per rd.

Yeah, my brother in law lives about 45 min. from me in Georgia. Two years ago he got his CC and you may remember he told me he had a "old junk revolver" he wanted to sell so he could buy a carry pistol. I bought his "junk" revolver a little nickel model 10 .38 snub nose for $200 bucks, when he told me the price I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough. He wouldn't take my advise on a concealed carry weapon to purchase and he bought a full size Glock. lol

Anyway I didn't try to tell him the shotshells may not cycle, he wouldn't listen to me anyway. He sold me the perfect pistol for them. He says he's going to load them in his Glock and have for snakes when they are kayaking.

One dollar per round is not bad so far the ones I have seen online are more in the $1.50-$1.68 range.

I've been using the CCI shotshells in my Kimber .45's now for more than a few years. The old ones many years ago would not cycle any autoloader, but the current loading from CCI functions in each and every one of my .45's.

The pattern given on paper seems to be 1" for every foot of range to the target. Good coverage at 10' that no snake or rat could possibly escape.

I'll now be on the lookout for that loading in 9mm.

FYI, CCI website is showing some new products in the shotshells.
9mm has a new offering called "Big 4" contains No.4 shot payload and claimed improved distance.
Along with the original shotshell with number 12# shot payload.

I saw the "Big 4" offered in a few other calibers.
I have not tried the Big 4 shotshells.

Outpost Armory, Christiana, has the #8 version of CCI 9mm shotshell. They also have #4's in stock for 38 and 44 I think. I load my Solo for walking in the neighborhood/park with first round CCI for vermin/dogs, (mostly use Smith 38BG) and Solo cycles fine. Three other 9 semis I have tried would NOT cycle. I drop the first round in the chamber despite forum criticism for doing so. I used to carry the 9mm CCI #8 in my 940 Smith. If I remember correctly, they are all around $17 for a box of 20.
