I've stocked up to a degree and have decided to get back to nature and channel my inner child so to speak. I'll be riding the the good ole .22LR bus until things (God willing) get better ammo wise. My usual favorites, 9mm and .44 special/magnum are being are being sat upon as supplies and components have all but evaporated
I remember back when I was about 12 my dad would supply the ammo for my hunting excursions. The typical ration was 5 rounds of .22 LR, "waste not want not I suppose". I had a ton of fun with those 5 cartridges each week. I'm going to go ahead and allow myself a few more shots each week and hopefully have somewhere near as much fun :-)

Because of the ammo shortage I haven't been doing much shooting at all this summer. But the blackbirds invading my yard and birdfeeders provide a lot of practice with this Colt Umarex 1911 pellet pistol. It has a muzzle velocity of almost 400 ft./s. I've killed about 10 and scared thousands away.
It does not have an operable slide as most pellet pistols do instead it uses that energy to fire the pellet only. It operates in both single and double action mode and it's pretty accurate. Even when I miss which is more often than not the report will scare the flock away.

45, 9mm. that's about the extent of my shooting adventures. I don't own any other calibers anymore. Corporate downsizing has hit my collection..

38 special, followed by 357 magnum, followed by 44 special. Because that's what I reload.
