200 grain for the Ultra?

I was told there would be less recoil with .45 200 grain vs. 230 grain in the Ultra, is this true? Is it noticeable?

The lighter the bullet the less recoil generated, I personally can't tell the difference I've always believed in shooting heavy bullets. A lot of guys on the forum shoot 115 gr. loads in their Solo's because they say the 147 gr. are to "snappy" so maybe there is something to it.

I can't tell much difference between 200 and 230gr FMJ. When I can tell a difference is I always fire two or three magazines of Speer 185gr Bonded Hollow Points +P to test function. Sometimes I just mix in a couple in a magazine of FMJ. You always know when you have touched off a +P round.

But I also like shooting the Ultra's as I am a fanboy, I don't mind the recoil.

I am 200 lbs, thats why I thought it might work better!! I just looked at FM and 200 gr is a few cents more, 230 gr will work just fine.

My go to bullet for my reloads is a 200 gran plated round nose, I get them for a good price and run moderate loads for my training ammo. I also will load 230's if I find a nice deal on them.
When I carry my CDP Ultra, I use Golden Saber 185 gran +P's, like the lighter faster bullets in the short barrel. While my 4 and 5" guns get the standard pressure 230 gran GS.
