Pre-Range Assessment

I just picked up my Kimber EVO TLE having acquired it from the original owner who only ran 40 rounds through it. I haven't shot it yet but thought I'd send out a pre-range assessment. I like the look and feel of it in my hands. To me, the grip texture is aggressive and feels a bit on the rough side. I imagine I'll appreciate that more when firing such a small sub-compact firearm. Though it comes with the 7-round magazines, they allow my sized hands to hold a full (though close tight) grip. Right now my only concern is how difficult it was to field strip to clean. I don't have very strong hands which could be the reason for my difficulty in holding the slide back to align the half circles and push that slide release piece out from the other side. What was even just as frustrating was the reassemble. Perhaps it will break in and get easier with time. I'll most definitely send out a range report in the near future.

Congratulations on your Evo TLE. I don’t anything about disassembling an Evo but maybe you can make a stop out of wood to help line up the half circle.

I made a stop out of a plastic nut and bolt this way you can adjust to the perfect size. works good on those small tight guns.

Can't imagine buying an EVO and dumping it after only 40 rounds. Nice score on your part though!

Need pics.

Would be the first EVO I have heard of with that sort of problem if that is the case. Some people just get itchy "buy something else" syndrome I guess.

I’ve put 450 rds thru my TLE without a hiccup.
I really like it.
Taking it down will get easier the more you do it

Thats impressive to get through the Kimber “break in” phase so smoothly. Congrats.
