Potential new owner, 6 round mag question

I am trying to figure this out and I am seeing all sorts of info online, has anyone tried the EVO with a Kimber 6 round mag? Interested in whether it works and fit, does it fit flush? Anyone have any thoughts on this, or even better, pics?

I called Kimber and the lady that picked up was pretty much clueless.

Cdumitru78, welcome to the site from Tennessee. No idea don't own a EVO.

I think there is a couple of EVO owners here? Don't hear much from them, which I guess is good.

I have only 7 round magazines for my EVO SP, and I haven't tried any 6 round magazines, as I have no access to them.

I have an EVO and a Micro 9, the magazines are interchangeable, so yes the six round fits flush.
I see the magazines for sale are listed separately, so there may be some difference, but they work in both guns.

I also have a 6 round mag for the Evo when I want extra concealability. Fits flush, and I have shot it extensively no hiccups.

Thank you, that is exactly why I was looking into that option!

I’m a new EVO owner and I browse these forums occasionally, but I made an account just now to post this.

My EVO will not feed HST hollow-points from the 6-round mag. The nose gets caught on the feed lip and creates a jam that’s kind of hard to clear.

The 7-round mags that come with the EVO work great, I’ve put about 300 FMJ and 100 HST rounds through the gun with no issues whatsoever. The 6-round mag works fine with FMJ rounds too, but the hollow-points are a no-go.

Not a big deal at all to me, I love the gun and prefer the 7-round mags anyway, but it sounds like this is important to you.

What ammo are you using? I can't use any Hornady with the rubber tips, or Sig VCrowns in mine regardless of mag. My Evo is extremely reliable, dead nuts reliable really, but it has let me know in a hurry if it doesn't like a particular hollow point.
