Gun Broker Dealers Good & Bad

We've recently been talking about Gun Broker so I thought a thread where we could post our experiences with the various dealers would be helpful.

Feel free to list the dealers you've bought from and the experience you had with them. Was the company easy to deal with, were there any unexpected charges, did they ship promptly etc. Would you deal with them again or would you suggest avoiding them?

J & J Sports

Mr. Chickadee bought his Springfield TRP off Gunbroker several months ago from a dealer called J & J Sports.

There were no hidden fees, shipping was fast, communication was clear. No issues at all.

Only GB dealer I've used is Northern Firearms (a division of Reed's Sporting Goods) My experience with them was VERY good. No hassle, no unexpected charges or 'gotchas' on the back end. Free shipping, no credit card fees. The price you see is the price you pay.
I highly recommend Northern Firearms.

CC from Other thread:

I bought and sold guns there and did fairly well on the buying end. Selling is a whole other story because final fees can put a cramp in your arse.
On the buying side, just need to engage 'caveat emptor'...
Two things to watch for a good price.
- If the price seems toooooo good. Watch that they don't take money off the price and then embelish the shipping cost and...
- If you use a credit card, they will tell you in the payment area that the price you see is a cash price. Most will tell you to add 3% or more in credit card fees.

I deal with a select few on there that seem to have good prices. One being Northern Firearms. (They are Reed's Family Outdoor Outfitters in Walker, Minnesota)...You will also see their listing photo as a red box saying free shipping, no fees.
Their prices might seem a little higher than some of the better deals, they are smart and add that on to their what you see price is what you get. They also add in for free extra goodies. Extra mags, or like when I got my Ultra Covert II, got a Free Kimber Bag. Didn't really want it, but what the heck. Bottom line, their listing price may look high but in the end, it really isn't.

There are a couple vendors there that do not charge credit card fees, or shipping. One way or another, I saved almost $400 on my Covert. My LGS could not go that low and he's a Kimber dealer.

I've bought a lot of guns on GB. Never had a problem, ever. Check feedback, of course, but it's always been smooth sailing.

Good news to read about Gunbroker. I had been wondering how they performed. I have been a member for a while but have not purchased anything as of today. I think that will change in the near future.

I have made four purchases through Gun Broker, every one a good experience.

If you are cautious and prudent in your end of the deal, I think you will be fine. Specifically, when I send someone a cashiers' check for $500. or so, I like to get a proof of delivery back. Costs a little more in postage, but it's the right thing to do. Check the feedback rating of the seller. They will almost always be excellent because I firmly believe that Gun Broker polices both their sellers and buyers scrupulously. I think that if you pull a fast one as a buyer or a seller, it will be your last GB transaction.

I'll give a special shout out to Borders Sporting Goods for fast delivery, great communications and honest description of the pistol.

I was skeptical about using an online firearm shop and had always bought local.
That all changed when I joined Buds Guns.. I have bought my last 3 firearms through them and they have been just great. Once payment has been received, the firearm is shipped and is at your ffl in 48 hours..
