Kimber Stainless II - post Beretta work

My new VZ Grips came in and while doing the R&R, I decided to see if I could improve the trigger. The trigger is far lighter since my other trigger jobs, but still lacks the crispness of my Colts that have professional trigger jobs. I removed a couple of coils from the mainspring and stoned further the face of the sear. I'm still not there.

Since doing the Beretta complete disassembly and reassembly after having the slide Cerakoted -- taking apart a 1911 is childlike simple. I feel like pro in taking it apart and putting it back together.

Here's the new grips and the still not quite there Kimber Trigger Job.

It's my first big scoop grip, and now I wish all my grips had this scoop. Much more comfortable and just feels right!

I've been watching videos and the only thing I can think of to get the crisp break from the trigger is to shorten the hammer hooks. Yikes!!! If I blow this it will be time for a new hammer. I need to take apart a few guns and measure this hammer hook depth before going down a road I cannot reverse out of.

Nice grips. I know right, how easy is it to detail strip a 1911!! I was very cautious and even a little scared until I read on KT just how easy it is to do, I also consulted the all knowing one, aka Uncle YouTube for a little advice once .

Wink Nice!!

Nice grips there, Monty!! They are very similar to the Hogue G-10 Blue Lava grips that I have on my Pro Carry II. Me like, oh great Salami Master!!!
