Help? Wilson magazine problem

I just brought home a TLE 2 TFS in 9mm. I bought five Wilson Combat Elite ETM magazines to go along with it. The magazines are getting jammed in the pistol. The slide does not lock back and I have to rip the empty magazine out of the pistol.

I looked on Wilson's website and this is apparently a known problem to them. The website says the feed ramp interferes with the front of the magazine. They suggest having a gunsmith work the feed ramp to give the magazine the clearance. This is a link to their retail page and under the bullet points it has a note advising of the Kimber problem. 1911 Elite Tactical Magazine | 10 Round 9mm | Full-Size-http://shopwilsoncombat.com/

My question is this.... should I dremel polish the feed ramp until this problem goes away, mess with the magazines, or dump the mags and get different ones?

Polish or alter your feed ramp at the expense of voiding your warranty. I'd return the magazines before I'd alter my guns, I run Kimber Kim Pro Tac-Mags in my 9mm and .45's Kimbers without having to alter anything on them.

I want to run this pistol in USPSA single stage and need the 10 rounds. Kimber's website shop doesn't offer a 10 round 9mm mag.

I found on the mag where it is contacting the feed ramp. I am waiting on my dremel to charge and then I will be grinding down the front of the mag. I will sacrifice a mag before I consider doing anything to the barrel. I will take some photos step by step. That way if it works we can maybe use this thread as a problem solver for someone else.

To me the best solution to the problem is to NOT use Wilson magazines. I agree with Chuck.

I'm with Chuck, I like the Kimber Tac mags, and my Ultra loves em.

Metalform Elite 10 rounders. Used for years no issue in my Kimbers. The wilson were problematic at best. So now they have a Gen 2 version but want to blame your gun....sigh

I understand what everyone is saying. I am going to try trimming the nose of one Wilson mag tomorrow. If that fixes the problem then we are good to go. If not I will try to return the mags and get different ones.

I agree with this also. If a little grinding and trimming the nose doesn't fix it I will get different mags. It seems to only need to buzz off about 1/8 inch on the very front lip of the mag.

Just off the tip of the shadow from the black pin you can barely see a rounded spot. In that area is where the mag is contacting the feed ramp. I am going to grind that section of the mag down and see what happens. Yes the pin is an AR hammer spring lol.
