Field stripping an Ultra Carrry II

OK, probably sounds like a dummy, but I have never figured out how to fields strip my Ultra Carry II. I have the little pin, but there is no hole to insert it to. I have seen the videos on how to strip it without the pin, but that hasn't worked. Anyone want to walk me through this? I can strip a Colt 1911 and my old Detonics, why is this one so difficult? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hole is in the guide rod on the left side of the gun...Pull back your slide and lock it and then look and you will see the hole..

An easier way would be this....

Yeah, the NDZ tool is the only way to go.

It is illustrating the grip that makes it relatively easy to hold the slide back and remove the slide stop. Works for any and all 1911's, also 3rd-gen Smith & Wesson's, the Kimber Solo and probably the Micro although I have no experience with that one.

Hence my belief that might be of general interest.

Wow, another Detonic's owner? Had this old Combat Master for a long time. Had it Cerakoted last year.

I agree with Marshall, look for the small hole but the NDZ tool is really helpful.

Yes I got it broke down Was actually simple once I located the hole for the pin. Doesn't help being old and half blind. I am embarrassed to say that once it was apart it was extremely dirty and had to stop what I was doing to clean it. I would have chewed someone out for bringing me a firearm that was that dirty. Markie, My 1911 was a Thompson Center, but thy are all the same when it comes to breaking them down. At least I haven't seen one that was different. I didn't shoot it much at the time and I needed one of the new Ruger 10/22 Mags so sold it. Sure wish I still had it. 2sharp2, my Detonics is the original Combat Master from Washington. I met Pat Yates once in florida and got to talk at length. He asked me how the accuracy was and when I told him I wasn't impressed with the accuracy at 25 yards he looked at me like I was crazy and informed me they were never meant for accuracy at 25 yards but for a fire fight at under ten meters.

Agree with @Hawker800 - NDZ all the way. No brainer.
