I'm sorry but I've never seen anything like that offered by Kimber. You could try calling customer service and asking them.

Wink Oh Yeah!!!

While not perfect, the pen does make you feel a little better!!

BTW, a guitar pick or a credit card corner placed under the slide stop prior to full insertion will prevent the "idiot scratch"!! I learned that trick right after scuffing up my first blued 1911, a Colt National Match Gold Cup!! It could be touched up with a little cold blue, but I couldn't erase the image of that scratch from my memory!!!

Nope.

Kimber will refinish a KimPro II frame. Call Kimber for their current price and let us know the cost.

Sport/Marshall....I don't post personal gun pictures on KT or any site, for any reason. Never have/never will. Taking IP risk is for those that choose to do so, I don't.

If you have a problem with that, choose a orifice.
End of subject.

Not worth it. Best bet is to cerakote the gun. and avoid it all together. the Kimpro refinish is ungodly expensive. I remember them quoting me close to $300 when I called for my Pro CDP.....ugh lol

Glock will refinish a.........glock for $70 lol Sig will refinish slides and barrels for like $120....S&W will refinish a 6904......the entire gun for $150.....IMO kimber is insane in their pricing of refinishing.

And this is how you encourage customers not to request a refinish if you are not set up to support that market. Finishing guns on the production line is one thing. Working a pre-owned gun into the line (tracking serial number, all parts, etc) is another thing.

They probably prefer to be called "insanely priced" rather than having a bad reputation for customer support because they didn't offer it.

Think I'll just leave it and tell people that Kimber pre-scratches the frame to eliminate the necessity of you doing it.

Thing is though, i've hand refinished/reblued and touched up many firearms.

A simple light sand blast will remove the finish without removing the anodizing. Then you just respray it. Whole process takes about an hour minus drying time.

Hence why Glock S&W etc have great turn arounds. Kimber however has added an extra $175-$200 to their price tag for as we all know............sadly is not a very good finish to begin with.

I see tons of people cerkote, durakote and otherkote their kimbers and sigs because well sig doesnt refinish frames period and kimber....well they charge 3 arms 2 legs and a foot to do it. If they dropped their pricing a bit.....they'd make a lot more.
