New Kimber, Slide Stop Gouging Frame

Ok, here's the deal.

Kimber Pro TLE II, 4" Barrel.

Completed the 500 round break in today. All factory loads, nothing crazy.

I broke it down to clean it, and it looks like the slide stop is wearing a circular gouge/scratch around the slide stop hole.

Any one have this happen before? Of course, I noticed it about 30 mins after Kimber Customer Service closed for the weekend, per my luck. Little ticked about it, hopefully it's nothing major.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

My old eyes aren't what they used to be but I don't see anything abnormal there.

I could photo 15 or so 1911s in my safe that look like that or worse. Nothing abnormal. Now if the hole was oblonging what is different but you need pin gauges.

Show a pic of the back side of the stop lever.

Mike240, Here's a photo of the back of the stop lever. It's factory lever.

I took another photo. You guys can't see that? Am I freaking out for nothing?

Not a thing abnormal about that brother...

If your freaking out about that...what are you gonna do when it starts to show holster wear ???

As a friend once told me...

"If your tools show wear, that means that they have been used"...

At least it's not an "idiot scratch"...

JMS,

Not worried at all about holster wear. I bought it to use, not sell down the road. I carry it every day when I'm off duty. Wearing away the frame material is what worries me. I searched the internet for this problem, and the only thread I found talked about eventually cracking the frame from a loose slide stop/link. You spend $900, you want it to run without breaking. Thanks for replying!

Thanks for the info Chuck. I went to call them around 6:30, website says closed at 6. I'll call them on Monday to see what they say, as planned. I just wanted to know if anyone else was familiar with this before I spoke to a CSR.
