New Kimber Ultra II Sapphire - FTE

Just bought a brand new Kimber 9mm Ultra II Sapphire yesterday. Took it out to shoot this morning, and it didn't eject a single casing out of 15 rounds.
Both my husband and I tried with the same issue.

What would you suggest?
Call Kimber?
Take it to a gunsmith?
Try to adjust extractor ourselves? (But I tried the shake test and it held fine, so I'm not sure)

This is the first 1911 we've purchased. Previously we always stuck with Glock, Shield and similar, so to have such an expensive gun not work properly right out of the box was a shock.

Don't get too discouraged. I would take it to a local reputable gunsmith who know 1911's and ask him to adjust the extractor first. Small cost but you wont be without it for long.
He may need to throat it a bit. Sometimes when the case expands it offers enough resistance that the extractor wont pull the case out. Not a big problem just frustrating on a new gun.

What brand ammo were you using? Did you clean and lube pistol before firing?
Did you try different magazines?

Welcome to the site from Tennessee!

Wink My 2 Cents Worth!!

First off, welcome to the forum from beautiful downtown Monroe, Georgia!!!

Next, on to your question........ Please clean and lube your 9mm Sapphire per Kimber owner's manual instructions. Once that is done, check it out at the range again. If it still fails to extract and eject fired casings , try to manually cycle a round from the chamber (with the firearm pointed down range) and see if the extractor picks up the casing. Try different ammo. If it still fails to pick up the casing, have the 'smith at the range look the pistol over. If he/she can correct the issue, that's cool. Keep in mind that once a round is in the chamber, the magazine is no longer involved in the equation!! So you can actually rule out anything related to the magazine. If you are still having an issue after the cleaning and manual extraction check, it's time to call the folks at Kimber Customer Service. They will take good care of you and your errant pistol.

Send it to me. I'll fix it. If it is completely hosed, I'll send you a check for the value of the useful parts.

Okay here is the problem. Possibly...

This is your gun?

You need to get a 3 Musketeers costume to make this work correctly. Sword optional.
