New Smith and Colt Parts

During my last range trip with the number 1 grandson among other things I took the brand new S&W M317 .22lr revolver and a Series II Colt Woodsman. It was not a perfect experience for either pistol. The short bobbed original hammer on the Smith was almost impossible to cock, so I ordered a new hammer and hopefully lighter DA springs, can't go to light will cause misfires.
The Woodsman I bought used last summer at a gun show and dude had no idea round count or really info about history of pistol. I found springs for it and the M317 on Wolff Springs web page.
The New hammer came from Brownell's.

I dropped them off this morning at the gunsmiths, said should be ready next Monday I told him no hurry and to replace anything else he finds wrong or questionable on the Colt.

“ I told him no hurry and to replace anything else he finds wrong or questionable on the Colt”.

I hate when you pick up something being repaired and then they tell you something else should be repaired or replaced. Why wouldn’t you call me before I picked it up ?

The most exasperating part is when you talk to the guy tell him what you want. He gives you a quote for the work. 3 weeks later ok it's ready. you go to get it and $75.00 turns into $100.00. WHAT DO YOU DO. I paid it. But I really haven't used a GS since.
