The correct and easy way to polish barrel and guide rods

I found the best and easiest way to polish barrels and guide rods is to send them to a professional polisher who works only on gun parts. This is my Micro 9 barrel and guide rod. You can see the before and after results. I bet he does not use a dremel tool.

It is quicker on a polish wheel, you just have to hold on tight or it will be slammin the ground..

My first job after college was working as a buffer for the old "Frenchy's Discount Chopper Emporium." In fact, it was because of Frenchy's humor I also use the term 'emporium.'

Frenchy didn't like the mass produced buffing the local chrome shop used. So he taught me and a fellow MC member named Mike Turner to do a more precision job. I use that attention to detail now.

Not rocket science. Using different grits of polishing compound will give you, "I can't believe I did that", results. A cheap grinder from Harbor freight & some buffing wheels are all you need. They even sell a 3 pack of different grit compounds. Just get 3 different wheels & rotate through them. Really is amazing how shiny the parts comes out.

I did all of the aluminum on a Honda motor cycle years ago. Everything looked chrome plated.

I've done my own and yes, it takes time. But I consider it therapy and helps me relax. I polished my whole SS Raptor and took over 36 hours over several days. Came out great and gives you self satisfaction.
