Magwell, which one?

I am looking at installing a magwell to my SIS Pro and would like to hear opinions as to which one would be a better one, fit and finish wise - Kimber or Smith & Alexander? Thanks

I've had very good luck with a drop in S&A in my Colt Gold Cup 45 that I used for action shooting.

We had a thread on this a day or so ago. I don't remove Kimbers on the guns that come with them. But have never added one. I have used a lot of SAs. I forgot on the other thread that EGW makes a fine one that I have installed with out issue. The price is good if you don't mind a two piece.

I ordered an S&A for my CDP II Pro it is supposed to arrive on thursday, I will post pictures of fit and finish after it is installed. I read a lot of positive reports on the S&A and I was able to get one on e-bay for $27 less than what Kimber charges. I hope this helps.

So far I have not added any magwells, my Gold Combat came with one, not felt a need to add to any of the others. I do think they look good with a magwell. The Smith & Alexander part should be fine.

I installed an Ed Brown msh on my PC and couldn't be happier..

When they say "drop in installation"...that's what it means...

I'm a straight Kimber guy. I've got the two originals on my TM IIs and another TM II magwell on my SS Target II.

They fit and work just right, more importantly the guns fit in the IPSC Classic Division box.

I liked the magwell so much on my Kimber I had to have one for my Sig 1911 9MM stainless match elite. $67 and about three minutes on the bench and I love it! It is a Smith & Alexander. Fit perfectly with no adjusting and sits tight up against the frame.

Are you going to get mag well cut grips? I am going to put one on my Springfield 1911 but I like to get the grips I definitely like the way they look.

I see some grips have a space between the well and grip and look bad. Although my grip does have a slant at the bottom, they are flush to the well, look good and will stay as is. Those are Hogue palm swell grips, I will put the factory wood on and see what they look like.
