wilson combat extended slide release wont fit tactical custom HD II?

I have a Kimber Tactical Custom HD II, and the only thing I don't like is the slide release. I ordered a Wilson combat extended slide release, like I put on my colt & Springfield armory with no issues. But when I put it on the Kimber, the slide will not move forward when I try to reassemble the gun?

I would have bought a Kimber part for it, but I don't think they make one.

Dave

Welcome to the forum davered00ss. My EDC is a Tactical Ultra and I've been running it with a WC extended slide release for about 5 years. It slipped right in with no problems, looking at the release on WC's website they do say "Minor fitting may be required."

How about stopping by our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership.

Dave! Welcome from the high desert of central Orygun.

It appears it's time for either a sitting with your Swiss files, or a short trip to your favorite pistolsmith for that WC slide release. Let us know how it shakes out once corrected. Should not be a big deal at all.

I did all the gunsmithing on The springfield armory (trigger, beavertail, hammer, mainspring and housing, etc.,). Its just been a while. I really hoped it would just slide right in. I can actually see where the Wilson piece is a little larger than the Kimber.

Did you mean the hole was too small? the same thing occurs when you get a Wilson ambi safety. You have to get some fine grit paper and sand it down to fit. Then file to fit the safety.
