New Sear?

I plan to change my hammer to a stainless one (Wilson Combat) to match my trigger. Is there a need to get the WC sear for it too or I can use the original one? Reading online, it says using the WC sear in conjunction with the hammer makes a big difference. Any truth or it depends on the gunsmith knowledge? Tnx

I'd get both. Better chance they might work together without any gunsmithing. Also a good idea to put some gunsmithing cash in the budget just in case.

+1 what MR said. The original will work, but WC does a good job of properly fitting their parts to spec, so you may get a cleaner, smoother trigger out of it if you replace both.

Also you might want to consider a sear/hammer/Main-Spring/Sear-Spring/+ package. It's basically a drop-in trigger job with the best WC components. It is about the price of a trigger job, with all upgraded parts. It's probably on Wilson's site, but I have seen it in the Brownells 1911 Catalog.

Wink Alternate Plan "B"

To follow Montana's thoughts, you may just want to purchase the "Total Package"!! Just buy a Wilson Combat pistol. It will save a whole lot of time, disassembly & re-assembly, fitting, adjusting and extra loud utterances of really ugly "Four Letter Lineman Talk"!!
