Exclamation Ultra recoil spring replacement

I'm not going to get into the How-To of doing this because it is already posted. However, I do want to share one observation. I replaced the recoil springs in my Super Carry Ultra HD today. It has ~1,350 rounds through it. Once I had removed the old springs I placed them alongside the new ones and was surprised to see that the old springs were approximaely 1/4" shorter than the new ones (give or take a little bit.) I apologize for not taking photos and posting them here. But basically I just wanted to give y'all a heads up about this. Also, the strength of the new springs is significantly stronger than the old ones, so it was a bit tougher to put the new ones on than it was for me to put the old ones on after cleaning the recoil rod assemble when it started coming lose last week (different post.)

OK, there it is. You have the heads up. It ain't that hard, but you do need to be careful because of the increased spring tension.

Yeah, the springs do tend to take a "set" and will be shorter. They do it fairly quickly long before they wear out. Longer makes it a little bit harder to reinstall the assembly especially by hand with out using a tool. The wolf XP springs are even longer than the new standard springs. I always change my springs way too early, I know. I hang on to the used but still good springs. You never know when we will not be able to buy gun parts in the future.
