1911 pistol mod ?

I'm looking at a new pistol that has a modification I'm curious about. Why modify a 1911 such that after the last round the slide does not stay back? And to reverse this mod, I'm guessing, is simple as replacing the slide lock lever, right?

I'm not sure why someone would make that modification either. Replacing the slide stop should get it working like normal. Most are drop-in but occasionally the lug on the slide stop may need filed a bit if it locks open prematurely.

I do remember Kimber was having a issue with premature slide locking back, A issue with the slide stop. I think You had to send your slide stop to Kimber and they would modify/sand or grind it down and send it back which would fix the problem. A lot of people including myself went with the Wilson bullet proof slide stop. I haven't had any issues after replacing both in a TLE II and Pro Carry II.

NRA Tactical Police*Competition*... Safe (Safety ON, Bolt closed on*empty chamber, loaded magazine locked in place). ... Times. 20. No*Shoot. Target Hits. →. Times. 10. = Procedural.*Penalties. →.

(maybe gun was modified for something like this)
