Ultra Bel Air II 9mm. What did I just buy?

Hello, everyone. Just got my first Kimber- a gorgeous blue, special edition, Ultra Bel Air ii, 9mm.
When I saw it in the store, I thought it was a Micro Bel Air, but it's a 9mm, not .380.
I looked all over the Internet to learn more about it, but I can't find anything.
I cant find the Ultra Bel Air model on the Kimber website or in the 2016 catalog.
Can anyone tell me more about this gun? What exactly is a Kimber special edition?
It may seem odd that I purchased a gun without knowing much about it, but I've been drooling over images of the Micro Bel Air since it was first announced and I just couldn't pass up a 9mm version.

Check this link for more info. It does not show a bel air model though.
I did see one today at the LGS believe it or not. Took a pic because I had not seen one yet. Kimber America | 1911 Pistols

I did find that info and it helped nudge me into buying the gun, but when was the Ultra Bel Air model produced? How many were made? Is it just now coming to stores, or has it been around for a while? What is the difference between a special edition gun and any other Ultra model?
I'm new to Kimber, so please excuse my ignorance about this gun. I've only been shooting for about a year and this was a pretty expensive addition to my collection and I'd like to know if I snagged something unique.

I added a picture of my gun to my original post. I had to snap a picture of it when I got it home so I could share it with a few friends I shoot with.

I do believe it's a new model to 2016 line up but I could be mistaken. I had not seen one until today. As for the numbers, I am not sure you will find out. From other members posts Kimber doesn't pass out that information often. The special edition guns are standard ultras with a twist. I own a crimson ultra and an onyx ultra. Mechanically all parts intrchange. The special editions are flashier versions of the standard ultra.
Welcome to Kimber ownership and you picked a beautiful one to start your collection with.

Welcome from Northeast, Pa texastoasted. Congratulations on your new Ultra Bel Air. I have a Diamond Ultra 9 and it's been a 100% reliable gun. It's the same gun, just looks a little different. If you need spare magazines I would recommend Joe's Mag Mania. Great Mags for a great price.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois texastoasted and congratulations on the new Ultra Bel Air.

In addition to "Custom Shop" and "Special Editions" Kimber will do special runs for anyone wishing to purchase a minimum of 50 guns. Lipesy's and TALO are two distributors that occasionally will order special run guns made to their specs.

I've been reading through the other forum posts and saw the one about Joe's Mags. I have a 5 pack coming.
