655 Flat Wire Recoil Kit/comp.38 Super

Ordered from Wilson Combat for my PC II in 9mm. I wasn't sure it would fit but it does...comes with a 1/4" guide Rod which is a little smaller dia. and about 5/16" shorter, it's end cap has same diameter hole that matches the rods dia. The rod is set back from the end cap about 5/16ths.looking inside from the front. It allows disassembly n back without the tool. The 15# flat recoil spring is sized to fit on 1/4" guide rod...this spring won't fit on stock factory guide rod. The tension racking the slide now is the same as before but flat spring has a longer life span into the thousands per there data....

That about sums it up, that's the way it was designed to work.

Unhappy Omg!!

I agree with Hoghead, that is a good photo. However, that view of a pistol makes me squirm!!!

When my son graduated from Basic Training at Ft Benning in 2007, the Army staged a demonstration of the employment of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Stryker armored personnel carrier. As the graduating class stood in ranks, the two vehicles rolled in from the sides of the parade ground, under a smoke screen. They came to an abrupt halt, dropped their back doors and discharged two squads of infantrymen, charging forward toward the review stands, with their weapons trained ahead. My son looked at the soldier standing beside him and said, "My dad isn't going to like this!!!". He was right!!! Having a weapon aimed in my direction gives me the "willies"!! Always has, always will!!

I hope that .38 Super flat wire recoil spring works out in your 9mm. Let us know when you get back form the range!!

I am thinking of doing the same thing to my new PC II but wasn't sure if the 38 super would work because the spring is 15lbs where as the Kimber uses a 14lb spring, I have a message in to Wilson combat to find out. Lets us know how it shoots.

this Wilson kit is already being used by other members without any issues...the trigger pull is exactly the same poundage measured as factory set up. Usually 1911 pistols use a 16lb.spring in 45 caliber and 14lb.spring in 9mm. People who try to have a super light trigger pull reduce there stock 45 trigger recoil spring from 16lb. to 14lb. and continue to reduce even further thru experimentation. I know of one shooter who went down to single digit for his 1911 and also used the buffer on his spring to reduce wear......My 16lb.spring on my 1911/45 E series is too weak and slings the brass way beyond the 3 to 6 feet standard....my friend switched to a 20lb. for the same reason and I need to update mine as well.....anyway 15# as opposed to 14# for this kit is not an issue

Went looking at this over on the WC website. Possible I may try this in my Tactical Pro 9mm. Figured others might want the link.

That's exactly what hoghead32 is doing, why not just wait until he gives us a range report.
