Barrels of fun...

Hey gang, I'm thinking of swapping out the barrel in my SS Raptor Pro to a threaded barrel. I've looked all over including the Kimber store and really haven't found anything.

Any ideas if they are avail from Kimber somewhere, or something as accurate as one?

Did you talk with Kimber to see if they make one?

Haven't called Kimber... Didn't think they'd do that.
Never heard of either of those companies. Any experience with them?
Otherwise, I'll call Kimber next week.

I've never replaced a barrel, but Storm Lake and Wolf are widely known for Glock conversion barrels.

My search several months ago for a 1911 barrel that was threaded for a Kimber turned up nothing. I tried Storm Lake, all kinds of threaded barrels for Glocks. Found a few for Colt 1911 but could not confirm if they would fit/work in a Kimber.

Will be watching this thread.

That's why I ended up buying the TLE Pro (TFS), could not find direction or parts to make my own.

configuring a barrel on Jarvis, Inc. | When Accuracy Counts ended up with a $294 price tag.

If I had to choose and money wasn't a big problem I'd just buy a TLE (TFS) like Adland did. That way it is covered by Kimber. Third party barrel may or may not function well in your firearm. If something goes wrong, who's gong to fix it?

All the things I did to it to date probably already voids warranty, so I'd guess that would be me paying for it. I'm surprised there are no barrels on Kimber's site.

Its more than just a money issue. Its a NJ issue, etc. Permits are a pain in the arse.

If they already make threaded barrels for others, I'd almost bet it would fit a Raptor.

Just a guess but why would Kimber want to make threaded barrels that people can buy from the parts department when they can make more money from selling you a complete threaded barrel pistol.
