Ultra Carry II feed issues

Purchased a stainless Ultra Carry II last weekend and am having 2 types of feed issues in two separate range trips:

1. The mouth of the case seems to hang up on the front edge of the breech, either at the bottom immediately adjacent to where the feed ramp meets the breech or possibly at the very top of the breech. It's hard to know for certain, but the axis of the round is clearly not parallel to the bore. This is happening about every 3rd or 4th round.

2. FTRB - the slide stopes about 1/8" short of being fully in battery. This begins to happen consistently after about 30-40 rounds.

Gun is brand new, about 125 rds through it. Cleaned and lubed before each range session.

Ammo: both Federal aluminum case and Sellier & Bellot brass case 230 gr. round nose.

Mags: original Kimber stock mag and a KimPro Tac Mag.

Any ideas short of sending it in?

Sorry for the long post and TIA for any ideas -

Your first post sounds like a quiz. GLWA

Welcome to the site from Tennessee. First I would try a different "brass" cased 230gr FMJ ammo.

Have you preloaded your magazines and let them sit a while? Not a magazine feed problem? We had this with our Kimber Micro Carry......Oh, Welcome to the forum from a Middle Tennessean.

May need a polish of the chamber and ramp, but I'd run a couple hundred more rounds through it to see if it doesn't free up. If this continues, call Kimber. They will make it run right.

Thank you all for your thoughts.

I'll try some different ammo and allow for some additional break-in and see how that goes.

The magazines were freshly loaded.

My first thought was to polish the feed ramp / breech edges, but there is a lot of disagreement in various forums about that so I decided to hold off and explore other options first.

Again, thanks for your replies.

Do not polish the feed ramp unless you're willing to void your warranty. Contact Kimbers customer service and discuss the problem with them, if they think your gun needs any work or adjustment they will take care of it for you.

I was seeing your condition 2 in my pro carry. I followed suggestions made here and around round 400 it settled down enough that I was able to identify a bad mag. Your issue 1 sounds like a real strong recoil spring. Lube it real wet, buy quality brass factory loads and shoot the shit out of it.
