Best Pro Carry II sights for 10 yards

Referencing my other post. Did not have success with tru glo tfo sights. Always shooting 2" low at 10 yards. Front sight much taller than stock. Any other night sights would you recommend. Thanks

I think this is a discussion you should be having with your gunsmith. Tell him the type of sight you want and where you expect the gun to hit at what range. Let him suggest and install the sight. If the sight is not on at the range you specified he will be responsible for making it good.

I spoke with a tech a tru glo and he stated that these sights are set for 25 yards and cannot be changed. Tru glo wanted me to send my slide so they can experiment with different sight combos to see if they could resolve the issue but still would set the sights for 25 yards. This is a carry gun and I want it dialed in for 7 yards which they say they cannot do.

All my lgs did was install the sights I purchased and since they are fixed there is no adjustment so I cannot what he can do to help.

I know the mepros are expensive but if they do the job I don't mind the investment to get the results I want.

Thanks for the input.

I put these on my Custom. The first set were defective, but my LGS swapped them out for new and it's shooting quite well. I pretty much do all my shooting at 10 yards and 7 yards.

AmeriGlo Weapon Sights | Complete Sets

BTW, my LGS had these in stock so I did not have to order them. And they were $10 cheaper at my LGS, with no installation charge.

Exclamation Okay Then......

Here is the cure to your dilemma: Measure the height of the new front sight of your pistol. Make note of that height and locate a front sight that is shorter. It is a guessing game as to which height you will need, so you will have to SWAG it (SWAG: a telephone worker's acronym meaning "Scientific Wild Ass Guess!"!!!)

My best guess is to take the existing height of your front sight and go two sizes shorter. Cross your fingers and take a wild ass guess. You may hit it on the head the first time. I suggest going with the cheapest sight you can find. If it is too tall (still hitting low) slowly file that bad boy down a little at a time 'til it is right where you want to hit. Then measure that and order a new "premium" sight of that height!! (Bring a jewelers file to the range with you.) This will take time, but you will have exactly what you want when you are done.

The alternative to this is pay a gunsmith to do the same procedure for you. Just keep in mind that pistolsmiths ain't cheap!!! Alternate Plan B is to order a set of Tijicon Night Sights at: Front Sights | 1911 CommanderGovernment | 1911 I have a set on my Pro Carry II. This is what they do for me @ 15 yards:

Good luck and let us know how it works out!!

I bought Heine Straight Eight Tritium sights (8 vs OoO) because I wanted night sights with a cocking shoulder. Here is the sight view. They seem to be really accurate.

Sight radius times impact distance divided by target distance equal change in sight height.

All measurement in inches.
