Wink PC II Hits 225 Rounds!!

Made it to the range again today. My Pro Carry II is now up to 225 rounds through it. I had one round (PMC ammo using 4 different magazines 2-Kimber and two-Chip McCormick) that failed to fully chamber. Just a light nudge on the rear of the slide and in it went. Round went bang and that was the only hang up. I'm not overly pleased with that, but in the last two range outings the pistol has run at 98%. Hoping for a consistent 100% by the time I hit 500.

Accuracy at 20 yards was acceptable. This target was all 50 rounds. The three at the bottom were all called flyers!!

No, I did not use a shotgun on this target!!

Target must have been taking a nap!! It was laying down!!!!

Check this thread. Sounds like you got around that would not set back the bullet upon chambering. The others are likely being set back. And easy check in the thread. With a slight kiss of a reamer and you will get your 100%.

Wow, nice shooting. You did that at 20 yards? I'd be lucky to shoot that well at 20 feet.

Sounds like you had fun.

My PC II has been 100% from the first shot on, but I have used nothing but my reloads and I did turn them up a little I find it helps during the break-in period.

Exactly. That's a 21 ft target for me. Great shooting Lineman.

Nice shootin'!! I would be proud of that target at any distance!
Here's hoping for that magical 100% error free gun performance for your next range trip.

I had previously read that thread. I did the chambering test and my barrel passed with flying colors. In fact, there were no marks on the bullet after rotating the cartridge in the chamber and the rim actually stops slightly below the end of the barrel (approximately 1/32"). I chambered and ejected a cartridge and the extractor just left very light mark at the edge of the rim where it rode over the side.

I know it does not need a reamer and the extractor gives no indication of being too tight. I did have the trigger over travel adjusted down a bit too tight. I re-adjusted it and will take it to the the range again. If the problem still exists, I will follow my own advice and contact Kimber Customer Service on Monday!!

Lineman, does your Pro Carry II (I prefer to spell it out since the term PC gives me the creeps) have an aluminum frame, or is it an HD? When anyone holds my two Kimbers they are struck by the feel of the Pro (alum) because it is so much lighter (10 oz as I recall) than the full-size steel Custom. I kind of like the heaviness myself, just like I like a .45 rather than a smaller round. But those that are not familiar with the models and simply like the feel, and I suppose the look, seem to like my Pro Carry II the best. It is a fine gun. Great size and balance. It'd be hard to say one shoots better than the other though. I currently am at 2000 rounds through the Pro.
