First day at the Range with my Ultra Carry II!

Well I went to the range with my new Ultra and was really happy with with the feel and function of it. I ran a box of fifty 230 grn. fmj (reloads) through it without on ftf or fte or any malfunction what so ever. I used the one magazine it came with and a few eight round Kim pro Tac mags. Today I received my five compact magazines from Joe's. The next trip I need to shoot it with a rest to see exactly how the sights are zeroed. windage is fine but everything was lower than than the bulls eye. I was shooting at around thiry five to fourty feet at small rifle bore targets. Next time I plan on shooting from 21' and at silhouettes I expect my accuracy to improve considerable. I received my grips, trigger, magwell and ambi safety in the mail just waiting on my ceramic stone then it is all going on the Ultra! Tonight I put the magwell on and the grips. I had to see how it was going to look! https://www.kimbertalk.com/forums/att...1&d=1479193914 The next picture I post will hopefully have the ambi safety and new trigger installed. I have never done a trigger job before. I want to improve the take up and a little creep I noticed in the trigger. The pull weight is fine so I do nt plan on any changes there just a crisper break.

Wow, those grips look great with the all black frame! Congratulations on the UC2, I've got one in 9mm with close to 2K rounds through it since February. hahaha...my husband is probably sorry that he bought it for me since I use up all the ammo! I had a few failures in the beginning, but I think that was more me getting adjusted to the 1911 platform and it's been smooth sailing since. It's an all round great pistol to shoot! I'm thinking my next pistol will be another UC2 in 45 caliber...wishlist!

The grips are from E-Z grips and made with the G10 material. I really like the feel of the grips. My fingers seem to lay in the the grooves of them. I think they will improve my grip over the rubber grips that came with it. I also went with the G-10 because they are suppose to be durable and not show wear. I do plan on carrying this one when I am at the Range on RSO duty. It also will be following me around my home! I am beginning to see why Arland and others really like the Ultra!

Tom, love what you've done to your Ultra. Starburst grips look awesome on it, magwell looks factory.
That is the same grips I bought and installed on my TLE Pro (TFS) except mine has the thumb scoop.
