Classic Model Custom 45ACP - Yonkers.

I recently acquired a Kimber Classic Model Custom 45ACP - stamped Yonkers, NY. I'm trying to #1) Research it's current value and #2) I'm interested in what's it's original MSRP was.

In the research I have done I've discovered it isn't as rare as owning a Clackamas. However, I'm having trouble finding this specific make/model to get some comparative pricing. I keep coming across the Classic II. I tried to call Kimber earlier to find out when this was manufactured but I missed them by an hour. Bummer.

Attached are a couple pics. Maybe one of you have something similar!?! Any input is appreciated.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! Don't own one of those, never seen one like it but maybe someone has. Nice looking pistol. Appears to have a pretty low serial number, I poked around online could not find any info, at least not yet.
Best bet may be Kimber CS on Monday. They should be able to tell you the build date and might be able to tell you the MSRP?

Thank you!! - all the way from Alaska.

I'm planning on calling the CS on Monday.

We also acquired a couple Para's. Those were easy to locate used prices vs new. But my favorite of all, the one I learned to shoot on, the Kimber, turns out to be the hardest to find any info on. In my mind, that HAS to be a good thing. Right!?!

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois AKgirl907. Your Classic Custom is the earlier version of the Classic Custom II, the II signifies the presence of a Firing Pin Safety block. The gun has no collector value that I'm aware of, I have a very clean one in my collection that I picked up last year.

Sport/Marshall....I don't post personal gun pictures on KT or any site, for any reason. Never have/never will. Taking IP risk is for those that choose to do so, I don't.

If you have a problem with that, choose a orifice.
End of subject.

Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. One other thought, periodically search GunBroker.com and see if others are selling/listing a similar model. That will at least provide a current day "market value". I would think that these have not appreciated much in value of the last 10-15 years, but, sounds like it is viewed pretty highly by yourself.

Not finding info on your Custom may or may not be good. In the early days Kimber was not well known for keeping good records. Since you have a history with the Custom, I wouldn't worry about it's value, if you learned to shoot with it or if it belonged to your father or other loved one it would be up into the priceless range IMO.
I searched GunBroker and several other places last night and didn't find any concrete information about it. I would like to see a full picture of your Custom and let us know when it was built. Being a "pre" Series II will make some people like it more.
Closest I have to your Custom is also a pre series II all steel SIS Custom.
I have no proof but I would guess that the MSRP when that was made was around $800, wild guess.

Gunbroker is the best place to check for comps. Search on completed auctions and auctions with bids. Auctions with no bidders are often just overpriced fishing expeditions.
