9mm Aegis Ultra II Factory Magazines; AZguy???

Picked up the 9mm Aegis Ultra II 9mm for wife. Love the gun but don't like the bottom plate for the Stainless Magazine provided. I will be ordering 3 more magazines from Kimber. Are Base pads available?

I see the Kimber Store carries the following:

--8-round stainless steel magazine, compact, 9mm (Kimber Store)
--Replacement Magazine Base Pads (Kimber Store)

Do I need to buy base pads for each magazine? Have never seen that before.

You can find a great selection on ebay, I've bought different colors there in order to tell my 9mm, .45 and .460 rowland magazines apart.

Wow. I am impressed. I would have never thought of that. Honestly, it is our first Kimber and I have never had to buy a pad before for other weapons. I even missed the Search Term "Bumper Pad." This was a very helpful response.

Yep, all my range/spare 9mm magazines have a "Blue" base pad.
I bought a bag of 25 I think, can't remember the price.

I run Kimber mags exclusively, never had a problem. I've never explored or bought base plates. IMHO it's one more thing that could snag or get hung up on clothing if you need to draw.

They make it easier to insert a magazine especially if you gun has a magwell. My carry gun is loaded with a magazine without a bumper pad but my spare carry mags all have them.

I roll the same way Chuck. None of my original factory magazines have a bumper pad. The two and sometimes three KimPro Tac mags I carry as spares all have the included largest base pad installed.
