1st Range Trip Sapphire Ultra

Joined a range today at a LGS that is under new management. Membership fee was $20.00 for a year with a charge of $10.00 per visit. They only require that you purchase the targets they sell. They are 0.92 cents each, I think that's a pretty good deal.
Green bad guy target engaged with 100 rounds of Georgia Arms 115gr FMJ.
The Sapphire had been stripped, cleaned, lubed with Breakfree CLP, grip screws tightened. Used factory magazine and 5 stainless ones I bought from Ebay. Functioned 100% perfectly, no jams, no FT anything. Main thing I found was the ball milled front strap and grip safety, gets a little slippery when the pistol gets hot and my hand gets sweaty. The first three mags from 7 yards was grouping pretty tight (at least for me) a little low and left of dead center.

Orange bad guy target engaged with 50 rounds Georgia Arms 230gr hard ball, using the still being brokein Ultra CDPII. I can't remember the exact round count but I think with this it is getting up to about 300 trouble free rounds down the tube. It has also functioned 100% perfectly.
I varied distance on both targets from 7 to 25 yards. Yeah, at the 25 yard mark I had a couple out there.

Yeah, I always try to throw a few to the head area. I hope on the 9mm the groups get tighter as more rounds go down range. I was emptying the range bag on the dining room table and my wife said "oh you shot the pretty gun".

Smile Me Like!!!

Thanks for the pictures and the range report. You sure can't miss those targets!!! I'm still waiting for my eyes to un-dilate!! WOW!!

I really like the looks of the Sapphire. My son and I both wish they made it in .45 ACP! I just ordered a .40 to 9mm conversion barrel and a 9mm magazine for my full size Smith and Wesson M&P.40. That my change my mind about the 9mm. Who knows?? At least for the range, the cheaper ammo will be nice for a change!! There may be a Sapphire in my future!!??

As for the head shooting. Here is a challenge for you......try the Mel Gibson stunt from Lethal Weapon: draw a smilie face on the silhouette target!!!!

& what's wrong with that label?? LOL

Is she saying the others aren't pretty??

She can't be all bad - she could have yelled at you for having guns on the dining room table!
