9MM Kimbers

For those of you that own or have shot the various 9MM Kimbers (excluding the solo), what are your thoughts? How is the recoil compared to the .45 version? Any areas of concern to consider before purchasing?

I am thinking of picking something up for the wife and thought the 9MM route may be a good way to go (plus I like the looks of the Aegis). I am going to take her shooting this weekend to get her thoughts but don't have a 9MM at my disposal to try out.

loved my cdp2 ultra 9mm. All I added was an ID - 10 - T mark. It was my first Kimber and it shot flawlessly. I have a cdp2 Pro and a cdp 2+ Ultra both chambered in .45, but I would snap up a 9mm in a heartbeat.

Insta-Gator has a thread in the Kimber Talk section titled...
"Who has a 9mm (not solo)" with lots of great comments if you need more info on the 9mm...

I've got a 9mm Ultra CDP II, my first 9mm. After shooting .45 cal. 1911's for the last 50+ years it's like shooting a .22.

Love my Sapphire Ultra, it has a little pop to it.

So so so true. I love to shoot my Beretta Cheetah .380 after emptying a half box of .44 cal out of my S/W revolver. Feels like a rubber band gun.

I have the Sapphire Ultra and personally I like the "feel" of my 45 more, just holding it and firing it.
The weight doesn't seem as distributed and surprisingly heavy in my hands. Now it isn't heavy but holding my 1911 45 and then picking up the 1911 9mm, you almost expect it to be lighter than it is. Is this a good thing or a negative? I have to say you need to hold one for yourself.

Now...all this being said, this is actually my wife's pistol and is all she shoots. She'll fire my 45 but still prefers her "purdy little blue pistol".

My range queen is the stainless II. Love it. Light recoil. Dead on accurate out of the box. Love it
