Got my first chip

Well took my mcp to the range today for the second time and got my first chip. I'm a little annoyed that it happened so easy but a spent brass hit the roof came down and hit the slide.
Now I know that all guns get dings it's just part of shooting but I feel the coating should be a little stronger then that! What's your guys thoughts? If that's the case this time next year it will look like I dropped it in the wood chipper.

It's hard to tell from the picture especially with 73 year old eyes. Is that an actual scratch in the finish or is it a mark made by the brass case that can be cleaned off? I've had the latter happen many times and was always been able to clean it off.

I like buying used guns. Dings at no extra charge, and any I create go unnoticed.

It does....I tried it for the first time a few years ago on a "idiot scratch" that someone put on my girlfriends new Ultra Carry...
