Whats the differance Super match or gold combat LE

So I have always wanted to purchase a Super Match. I just recently learned of another Kimber the Gold Combat Limited Edition. They seam to have simular features but the Limited Edition has a much cooler finish. But the statement of the super mach having the hand fitted barrel having better accuracy make me want the super match. Does anybody have these two guns and what are your thought. I like the limited edition because of the finish. I don't see any additional value in it being a limited edition of only 1000.

What are your thoughts

First, I think welcome to the site from Tennessee is in order. I don't own either of the two pistols you are asking about. Let me state 100% that if I had the money and could find a Gold Combat LE I would buy it without hesitation. Why you may wonder. Well the things I saw on my quick check. Super Match regular blue finish, steel frame and slide, with adjustable target sights, normal features.
You are CORRECT the Gold Combat LE looks cool. It is Stainless Steel with PVD finish in Dark Gunmetal frame and High Polish Black PVD frame. The LE also has Tactical Wedge Night sights. I am willing to bet the Kimber website photo does not do it justice. (Anyone seen one in person?) Gold Combat also has 24LPI front strap checkering and 30LPI checkering under trigger guard, extended magazine well. I think that's about it. You may ask will the PVD finish hold up? Is it durable? Good question, I don't know the jury is still out. I have a Sapphire Ultra that I have fired about 250 rounds down the pipe without any signs of wear. As for the concern about the barrel on the Super Match being "better", hand fitted. I believe they are all hand fitted to some extent. The Gold Combat coming from the Custom Shop should have and even better fitted barrel and on a pistol with a MSRP over $2,700 you would certainly hope so. Hope this helps. I really kind of hope I never see one in person! lol

The Gold Combat II limited addition is a copy of the 2 guns made by Kimber back in 2010 for Sylvester Stallone to use in the movies "The Expendables", "The Expendables 2" and "The Expendables 3". I'll say now that I would not buy one but if one should suddenly appear in one of my LGS I'd probably walk out with it.

Oh yeah, forgot about the "Hollywood Factor"!
I don't expect to ever see one in person but you never know!

Most of us are old farts, I'm 71 myself, we worked and saved our money for our old age well guess what it's here. Open your wallet and enjoy it because if you don't someone else eventually will.

They actually made 10 of them for the movie....
