thin grip panels

Most advertise a 3/16in reduction in width. Anyone here try it?

I have a set of RAASCO slim grips on one of my 1911's that my kids used to shoot. It doesn't sound like much but they really make a difference for smaller hands.

I have the Kimber thin Micarta grips and really like them. Easier to conceal and I seem to shoot better with them although it is definitly a differrent feel.

I bought some thin grips for my Super Carry Pro a few months ago from Ebay (1911 grip guy). Really like them since I have small hands.

You will also likely need to purchase the slim profile bushings if changing to thin grips - they're avail in the Kimber store & also on Amazon.

They're not made just for Kimbers you can get them for any 1911. Most after market grip makers offer them, check out places like vzgrips or RAASCO for starters.

Yes, if you're going to slim grips you need shorter bushings and screws. You can usually get the screws and bushings from the same place you get the grips.

The grip question has been answered. As far as magazines go, I like Kimber Pro TAC. A lot of members use Wilson Combat magazines with reliable results.
