Question I need info and a copy of an owner's manual

Until yesterday, I was unaware that Kimber had ever made a version of the 1911 that used a double stack mag containing 10 rounds. I was offered one in trade but unfortunately it only had one mag, no box and no paperwork. It is the Ultra Ten CDP II. After some investigating, I find out that it was made for only one year - 2003. I called Kimber to see if I could get any literature or a link to download an owners manual for it. They said, "Sorry. That's not available for that model." So I thought I would ask on here if any of you have one of these bad boys and might be nice enough to email me a scan or snail mail me a copy of the manual. Again, it is a 3" barrel, stainless slide, black frame, double stack magazine that holds 10 - and it is called the ULTRA TEN CDP II.

Thanks for any help or info you can give me.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois EricLimbo. I wish I could help but until you posted here I did know Kimber made an Ultra 10 CDP II. If you purchased the gun I'd be interested in seeing some pictures of it.

Limited Info

I did purchase it - well traded for it, but I haven't taken any pics of it yet. But here are some of the very few places on the web that it is shown or mentioned:

I would say there is no special manual. If it isn't here: page7b, it's not anywhere.

I've bought used pistols and rifles with no manuals. I write to the companies and they send a copy out pronto. Ruger is so accommodating that they sent 2 in case one was lost in the mail.

That's what I thought about Kimber. So you can imagine how surprised I was when Kimber told me that "Manuals for that model are not available." So I asked if there was a place I could download it. To which he said, if there is such a site, it wasn't from Kimber and he didn't know about it.

I've found out that the Ultra Ten and some of its polymer variants were indeed made for 3-4 years; however, the Ultra Ten CDP II appears to have been made for only 2003. What's strange is, when I field stripped it, I realized that internally it is almost exactly like the Colt Defender - except this mag well holds a double stack 10 round mag. I wonder if copyright infringement may have been the reason they only sold it one year?
