Question 1911 Buffers

Hi, I was wondering if any of you guys had much experience with buffers in the full size 1911 Kimbers. Was function affected? How long did they last? What about using them in the Commander sized guns? Any proof that they save the gun from wear and tear? They seem cheap enough.

Had some slide lock issues with my TLE for the first few mags. Ran fine for the next 250-300 rounds after it softened up a bit. Same thing next range trip. Took it out and went with the WC flat wire spring assembly instead. Love the action with that spring in there with no issues.

I tried one once but then I started running WC flat wire recoil springs in all my 4" & 5" 1911's and didn't feel the shock buffer added anything. I even run my .460 Rowland without one.
