1911 Extended Slide Release

What do you guys think of an extended slide release for the 1911 9mm/45ACP models? Is this something that would compliment the functionality of these weapons?

I see them everywhere, and I like the idea of one-handed operation.

Cheers,

They sure don't hurt nothing. And they make it much easier to reach and flip the release with your thumb. And they got to be cheap enough. I'd get one if were you.

There is no Slide Release on a 1911, the part doesn't exist. The name of the part is a "Slide Stop" and if you think about it the two words have the opposite meaning. No offense intended, something inside of me gets triggered when I see something like this and forces me to post a correction. It's like when a post is made about a clip for a 1911.... I go ahhhhh!

If you can't find an extended slide, release which doesn't exist, you might want to look for an extended slide stop, non ambidextrous manual disengagement lever. They work just as well and I doubt you'll even notice the difference. Carry on

Wilson combat actually makes one that looks very nice, and I am referring to the thing I mentioned earlier that triggered some members.

BTW, anyone know where I can find some M-1 Garand magazines?
