Kimber Ultra in .45

I have a couple of Kimber's in .45 and 9mm. The 9mm is Stainless and the . 45 is black, The one I carry is the Ultra in .45. Had to go to the firing range this past weekend for annual qualification. The Black one is my favorite; can't praise it enough. Since my recent Cataract surgery, I can now actually see the front sight and targets. This pistol shoots like a dream. I've no complaints. Just felt like saying something nice about this Kimber instead of finding fault (which I have done in the past).

Glad your eye surgery worked out for you, the ultra is a awesome gun. Ihave a couple and love them also, but with back pain from unsuccessful surgery I don't carry them as much as I would like. So I stick to my micro 9 or p938. Good luck with your new eyes, that means the world for getting on target.

Glad to hear that your surgery went well. I carry an Ultra Tactical .45 which I am sad to say Kimber has stopped making. I think it's the most complete carry gun Kimber has ever made and the best bang for the buck. It came with night sights, ambidextrous safety, mainspring housing, front strap and trigger guard belly checkering and a magwell. I am seriously tempted to hit gunbroker and buy another one before they are all gone.

Byern, Glad to hear the surgery was a success. I also agree with Chuck regarding the Tactical line, and generally about Ultra 45's.

Thanks for the comments. I would like to say that my Stainless Ultra II in 9mm is also a great pistol.. Right from the box-nary a problem. However, I do think the trigger is a little less the the 4 lbs they say it is. Wonderful pistol. The only reason I don't carry it is because two 1911 won't fit on my rather rotund figure.

Being able to see the front sight is a really BIG help. I wish my eyes were as good as when I was 20.

I love my Ultra. It's a Stainless TLE and my EDC. If I had a complaint, it would be that I shoot it a couple of inches high relative to its big brother, a Custom TLE Stainless. My Ultra has been spot on reliable and is fun to shoot.
