It looks like you had your work cut out for you Bob, that frame looked worse then I imagined it when he was trying to fix the stripped out bushings. If anything Jeff should have sent you Gigi's Kimber and have you fix the idiot scratch he put in it.

Depending on what that looks like... sadly, there is no real good way to fix an idiot mark. Other than refinish the entire frame. I do not care what anyone says, the chances of fixing just a small part and having it match the rest of the frame is highly unlikely.

Anyway, I hope to have the frame and stocks done tonight or tomorrow afternoon.. Ill will get more pics of the finished product up soon! Hope you guys enjoyed the write up!

Oh, I wasn't suggesting he have you just touch up the idiot scratch I'm thinking $he deserves a total make over at the very least.

Nice work. I takes hard work to make the end result look like magic.

However, I have one question....

idiotscratch.jpg

Not even a true idiot scratch. What is that?

This is too freaking cool to see my very first Kimber looking better than it did when I bought it..
I put the selection of what color/colors that I wanted to do it in on the back burner for many months and finally chose what you see.
I had planned to have our gunsmith at the range do it and then Bobby joined the forum and as they say..."Change of plans."
He has been so easy to work with and has been in contact with me many times via phone calls, e-mails and even PM on the forum.
I have probably looked at the photos on his Freedom Color Facebook page a hundred times and believe and trust in his work..
I asked him to take pictures of the whole process for me to have and then to make a thread about the project and he agreed to do it..
I want to say thanks to Bobby for taking a firearm that was in need of a makeover and making it into something I will cherish forever..

P.S.
The super glue idea was not my idea to hold the bushings in place instead of fixing it the right way...
Blame that on Johnnie Walker...

IDK...only thing I can say about that is, aluminum is soft... It doesn't take much to do something like that?!?!! Sadly, it's almost impossible to take deep blend like that out... Since the slide stop covers that, even when it was scratched, you probably couldn't notice it!
