Extended grip screws

I have a new Kimber Aegis II in 9mm that came with thin wooden panels. I would like to change the grip panels to a pair of synthetic rubber grips but the stock screws are too short. Does anyone know where I can get longer grip screws to accommodate the thicker grip panels. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can find them at kimber or midway or ebay, but they are of a special thread so don't try hardware store screws.

Brownells will have everything you need. Grips come in standard and slim size, to change from slim to standard you will need to replace both the screws and bushings.

If you order from them request a Free copy of their 1911 catalog, every 1911 owner should have a copy.

Make sure to splurge on a bushing removal tool and not just use a screwdriver

I did the opposite on my ultra cdp, put thin grips, bushings, and screws from kimber. I did buy bushing tool from midway. Easy straight forward job. I asked kt if there was loctite on threads from factory and the good people said no, so it was easy. Some thin grip bushings could be used with regular grips tou have to switch to longer screws.
