New Member, New Kimber

Hello,
I purchased a new Kimber Compact Stainless II for a price I could not pass up at a Gunshow a couple of weeks ago. I've been looking for info on this gun and as near as I can tell, they haven't been in the catalog since 2015. Is this info correct, and is it very common to find a new almost 2 year old Kimber in a gun shop?

By the way, I absolutely love it. All I think about is going to the range to shoot it. I'm considering Winchester Ranger T Series or Federal HST once I start carrying it regularly. I'm using S&B 230 gun FMJ for the range without any problem.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee.
I don't know when the Compact Stainless ended production but I found a new in box Kimber SIS Ultra that had been out of production for 10 years in a gun shop.

I assume the one year warranty begins when the gun is sold to its first owner.

Welcome from Northeast, Pa Ranger Daryl. Congratulations on your new Kimber. If you have any issues with your gun call Kimber. They have really good customer service and I know they say one year but they seem to fix most issues regardless of when you made the purchase or if your not the original owner. I'm talking mechanical issues not cosmetic. Don't worry about problems, you haven't even shot this gun yet. Give it a good cleaning, over oil it a bit and shoot some good 230gr ball ammo. Shoot about 400-500 rounds before trying any self-defense ammo. Let's us know how it shoots after you range visit.

I put three magazines of 230 grain blazer through it Monday and it function flawlessly. I only had a little time that day. But hopefully today I can squeeze in some more range time. I'm fortunate enough to have family land with a very large clay pit where I can go shoot.

Welcome to the forum from Mississippi.

Glad to hear it's working well for you. I bought a few boxes of 230 grain Ranger T-series and HSTs myself. I didn't have the HSTs before my last outing, but the Ranger T-series ran flawless through my Pro TLE/RL with both the factory Kimber and Cobra magazines. I only shot 86 rounds of the WWB FMJs before trying the hollow points and all went well. No problems what so ever with the first 116 rounds through it.

As other said, it's not uncommon to find new-old-stock guns at the shows and even online. In fact, Buds is showing they have the Compact Stainless II in stock.

Good luck with the upcoming shoots,, and hopefully you'll have good luck with either the Ts or the HSTs
