9mm full size recoil springs

I need to purchase spare recoil springs but would like something that will last longer than stock kimber springs. I've looked at Woolf, Wilson combat, ISMI. I've also heard that flat wire springs are superior because they last longer but are more expensive and need a different guide rod. What's your real world experience on this subject. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks

I like the Wilson combat flat wire recoil spring kit it comes with the guide rod. A few of us on the forum put them in all our 1911's. Slide feels smoother, spring lasts a long time. If you do wear out the spring you can buy them separately. after you purchase the kit.

I have the WC Flat wire recoil spring kit for my 5" Raptor 45 and it works great. I'm ordering one for my Eclipse Pro II real soon. The slide feels smoother like Tom stated above.

This looks like the one you need.

I run Wilson Combat Flat Wire Springs in all my 4" and 5" 1911's. Flat wire springs have a much longer life and while initially more expensive will out last many round wire springs. I would guess that the average shooter installing one will never have to replace it. For those installing them in Pro size (4") Kimbers you will have the advantage of being able to ditch that "L" tool and break your gun down using nothing but your two hands.

Ordered a WC 10G13 for my kimber 5" 9mm aegis. At $19.95 price is very reasonable and should last a long time. Feels much smoother than the stock coil spring. Thanks for the advice.
