Cant get slide back on.

I disassembled my grand raptor to clean it and when going back together I ran into an issue.

I can't get the slide back on. I think I see why, I just don't know how to correct it. What I believe to be the firing pin safety is sticking up a little bit. It moves up with the grip safety, but won't go back down all the way. I try to push it a little with my finger but can't get it to move and don't want to try and force it. I did note the slide came off with a slight drag which was odd.

I did put a new main spring housing on, but I have shot the gun since then without issue so I don't think that's the issue, but could be wrong. Here's some pics. It's the smaller of the 2.

It is because of the MHS that you put on. The same thing happened to me. I bought mine from Smith and Alexander and he told me how to file and hand fit it.I should add you do not file the pin you actually do a little filing on the MHS well not the spring just the housing.

I agree with Tom, the problem is the new mainspring housing it needs to be fitted to the gun.

I'll take this one off and replace it with the stock one and see what happens. I wasn't aware that they had to be fit to the gun. I should have done a little more research I suppose.

I have bought a few MSH and only had to fit one by hand.

I put the stock one back on and it went right together.

I will look into how to fit these since I really liked the one I had on there. It had a similar pattern to the front strap and a mag Well. The mag well was neither here nor there since I wasn't sure if I liked the look or not.

I'm glad to hear that your gun is working properly again. Chalk this up to lesson learned, when you make any kind of a change to your gun and you run into a new problem the first thing to check is the last thing you changed on it.

I have bought 4 Ed Brown msh and had zero issues so far. Glad that you figured it out and know how to fix the problem.

Didn't realize what msh stood for, so I had to do a search. Learn something new everyday...guess I am use to using all the words from my old days at work. Glad the problem was solved.
