Thinking a out buying another

I just bought a pro carry 2.
My NJ hanging permit allows me to buy two handguns. I saw a stainless 2 Target today. Not a fan of the adjustable rear sight but no one around has just the stainless 2.
Any thoughts on the Target ?
Any upgrades out of the gate (flat spring) ???

I would not buy the Stainless Target just because it is the only model available in your area!
We need more information. Adjustable rear sights have there place and purpose, range, competition, hunting, home defense? IMO, concealed carry maybe not so much, plus some people CC a full size 1911 but I don't think I would want to.

1. What will be your primary use for a Stainless Target?
2. Kimber has a lot of great full size models with combat style night sights.
3. Is the Stainless Target desirable due to lower price?
4. Your Pro Carry is more than capable of handling about every purpose.

My first choice for a very nice full size Kimber ready for anything you could throw at it would be a Stainless Raptor Custom, for just a little more than a Target.

I like my Kimber Stainless II quite a bit. But one Kimber is enough. Look at the Sigs, 1911s or the P-series. Variety is good, and another Kimber of a different name is not variety enough. They are basically all the same, with changes in color, grips and other insignificant and unimportant small item differences.

I bite my tongue when people here show the "family" of Kimbers in their possession. Really 10 or more of the same thing, maybe different grips or some knurling on the front of the grip, etc... Hey, it's your money, enjoy it, while you got it.

Is that 2 handguns total? Or two that can be purchased in a certain period of time? Either way that blows. In Montana there's no limit to how many you can buy in a single day even.

And what's a Hanging permit?

I have always wanted a 5" 1911, recently I went looking and found a pro carry 2. Fell for the size, weight and how it felt in my giant hands. I can not CC in NJ... I wanted a 1911 and figured I would carry it as back up while hunting in Maine. The NJ permit allows for 2 handguns and it does expire then you have to re apply. 4-6 week wait. I settled on either a SA loaded or Kimber stainless 2. Both are in my price range. I'm told the SA will be a long wait. The stainless target looksime the stainless2 just different sites?

Kimber Eclipse full size with target sights. Best all around fun gun and drop dead sexy. If your gonna carry it get the fixed night sights. (I'm not carrying a full size chunk of steel 12 hours a day) recommend the target sights for everything else.

If SA is Springfield Armory, then it is worth the wait.

Mine is over 25yo and has had a lot of work done on it over the years. I made the mistake of having it Cerakoted a while back, and now it's to pretty to carry.

I've never handled a Wilson or an EdBrown, but I would bet this as tight and smooth (ought to be after the 10s of1000s of rounds it has fired) as the high end 1911s that some of you's'all can afford.

So I just got back from gun shop.... Yes we have them in NJ.
They have the Stainless target (nice gun) just don't want to pay extra $80 for sights that I'll pay another $100 to have replaced. Otherwise I REALLY like it. So, they are gonna talk with their Kimber rep tomorrow and try to get a time frame for delivery of a Stainless 2 for me. They had Springfields, Colts, S&W, and Kimbers.
The Kimber felt the best in my very large hand. (I'm 6'5" and 270 with matching hands).
The did have an old Colt Gov that was gorgeous and had the most incredibly smooth trigger pull... $2985. Out of my League
