How to hold bar and dot sights

I have a grand raptor 2 and it has the adjustable bar and dot sights. I am used to 3 dot and glock sights. The closest I have to the raptor is the 2 dot on my M9.

Do I make the dot "touch" the bar, or do I line up the bottom if the dot with the rear sight?

I have been fairly accurate with the pistol, but to be totally honest, I could be better if I knew the right way to hold the sights. I think they might need a slight adjustment, but don't want to adjust until I'm sure of how to line everything up.

Can we get a pic of exactly how your sights are?

Not sure if this picture depicts the sights you're asking about, 2nd from the right:

And here's the page with full info:

Speedy, that's a great graphic. That's why we need to know what his rear sight looks like, to get him a correct answer.

Exactly. The one indicated is a Bigdot XS Express sight system. Was searching around and Khar has a bar and dot sight that doesn't have the rear sight "V" but a bracket. The hold was the same, however. 👍

I think your hold would be the 2nd on the left in the picture I posted earlier. Not quite the same sights, but a similar idea and hold. The one pictured is like a football goalpost and yours is without the "uprights." Also, the dot on the front sight probably takes up most of the rear frame, so not so much space between the dot and uprights.

You'd have to test this at the range, but I think you would center the dot in the rear sights with the bottom of the dot sitting on the bar.

I would say the sight alignment above is correct.
