Larcher, welcome to the site from Tennessee. Congrats on the Ultra Carry, great little pistol.

I CC so didn't want to wait on a fancy holster, I could buy later if needed. I bought the black OWB right hand from Kimber website (no strap) worn in the 3 to 4 o clock position.

I don't carry the UC2, but carry guns in that same size range. What holster you like will depend on how you're built and how you dress. Here in SoCal, I wear a jacket about five times a year, and I don't wear baggy clothes, so OWB is not an option. But a UC2 with an untucked shirt can be carried quite conveniently. I'm 5' 11" and tip the scales at 200 pounds--above average muscle layered with too much fat in the middle. Carrying was a little more comfortable when I was about 180.

I'm a fan of dual belt loop systems, for the precise positioning and stability that they provide. They're a little thinner, as well. But the best part is that the greater surface area evenly distributes the pressure of the rig against my hip. That's a big plus after carrying for a full day.

My favorite IWB holster is the Milt Sparks Versa-Max 2. It's beautiful and comfortable--a work of art. I like their belt loops, but their kydex clips are not my favorite. Sparks holsters are expensive and there is about a 3-4 month waiting list.

My runner up IWB holster is the CrossBreed SuperTuck. It's a hybrid, made from leather and kydex, so it looks more like something you made in your garage. But it's comfortable and does what it's supposed to do. It's about half the price of the Sparks, and you can get it right away. The SuperTuck excels with their metal clips. Full leather loops are a better choice, but sometimes you want to just clip the holster on and go.

I need to buy a holster soon for a new gun, and I'm really torn about which of these to get.

I don't have a UCII, but I do carry an officers size regularly. I love my Crossbreed Supertuck at about 4:00-4:30. Comfortable and solid.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois, I don't own a UCII but I do own a couple of Ultra size guns that I carry in both .45 and 9mm. Basically all Ultra's are the same except for the bells and whistles. I'm 5'-10" and 180 lbs, I've tried every way possible way to carry a gun and found the OWB holster to be the most comfortable. From heavy winter wear to shorts and t-shirt in the summer, a good belt makes all the difference.

Most 3 inch 1911sare the same with the exception of one's with crimson trace grips. Some full holsters need the little bump for the laser.

I carry my Ultra TLE in a Tucker Cover-Up plus around the 2:30-3:00 position.
