Pro carry II HD 38 super

Hi all. This is my first post, I'm looking for experience from the knowledgeable, that's why I'm here. I'm about to buy a Pro carry II HD 38 super. Looks feels and even smells nice. My only hesitation is my experience with a new kimber I bought years ago with an external extractor. I couldn't get 1 round to cycle properly. I realize that isn't the case with the current models being produced. As far as all the jargon with the Swartz safety,etc.,etc,etc. is there any legitiment reason to not buy this? Any recommended upgrades besides the sights? I appreciate the info

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois 11BO4. There were problems with the external extractor but that was years ago. Kimber has dropped it and gone to all internal. I have many 3", 4" and 5" Kimbers in 9mm, .45 and one converted to .460 Rowland and I've not had a problem with any of them. As you read through the forum there tons of posts on the Solo, Micro 9 and Micro Carry but very few on problems with the 1911, I can't think of one reason not to buy one.

Now, how about going to our "New Member Introduction" sub forum and introducing yourself to the membership?

Welcome to KT from Northeast, Pa. I agree with Chuck, I don't see any reason not to buy one.

Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois, and someone who has a Pro Carry HD 38 Super in his daily (favorite) carry rotation. I had the front strap checkered at 30 LPI, switched to the Wilson Combat flat wire spring set and added a Mag well. For the record, mine has never had a problem.

I bought one earlier this spring. Had a bit of bad luck in that the front sight fell off with under 30 rounds. But after it got back from Yonkers, it has been perfect. Very sweet shooter.

The one I have is a terrific pistol -- great shooting and easy to handle. Ammo is a little expensive, but there are more options available now than a few years ago.
Enjoy!
